The Football Foundation, a partnership which enables key football partners to come together around the shared vision to improve football facilities across the UK, has published a tender for pitch advisory services.

The Pitch Advisory Service has been running since 2014 and is a multisport collaboration with a shared strategic ambition for pitch sports.

The web app, PitchPower, is pivotal in the activities and has been designed for inspecting and improving grass pitches. The app is currently being given a reboot to improve the user experience and extend it to support not only football but cricket, rugby league and rugby union too.
“We know we can’t deliver our mission alone and so we’re tendering for the commission of a Pitch Advisory Service Delivery Partner to lead all aspects of the service delivery from 1st April 2024 – 31st May 2028,” the Football Foundation said in a statement.

The foundation is on a mission to revolutionise the state of grass pitches across England and aims for 20,000 ‘good’ quality pitches to enjoy at grassroots level by 2030.

At present, the Grounds Management Association (GMA) is the Delivery Partner for the duration of the programme. The current agreement expires on 31 March 2024.
