Witty response by Eintracht groundsman

Eintract Braunschweig

The groundsman responsible for the stadium field of Eintracht Braunschweig had a witty response to vandals who spray-painted a message in the centre circle.

The dominant club in the match between Eintracht Braunschweig and FC Heidenheim in the 2. Bundesliga in Germany turned out to be Hannover 96. This, despite the club not having to field any player.

In the night before the game, fans of Hannover 96 burned ‘96’ in the centre circle. It turned out that it was impossible for the Eintracht groundsman to remove the message in time before kick-off.

Instead, he applied his line-painting ability to write ‘Nein danke’ (‘No thank you’) in clear white letters at four places around the circle.

Players of Eintracht Braunschweig were clearly not bothered by the incident. They beat FC Heidenheim 2-0.
