The Spanish hockey federation (RFEH) and the TenCate grass group have entered into a partnership. The Dutch synthetic turf manufacturer will become the federation’s official technical sponsor “to promote the innovative and sustainable development of hockey,” the statement reads.
The partnership focuses on both elite and amateur hockey in Spain. Although TenCate grass has its own installation partner in Spain in the form of Opsa, the synthetic turf giant has chosen to enter into the partnership under its own banner and name.
TenCate grass has a similar partnership with the Dutch hockey association, the KNHB.
The announcement by the Spanish hockey federation coincides with the celebration of the first dry hockey synthetic turf pitch that Opsa has installed at the Pablo Negre municipal hockey complex in San Fernando, near Cádiz. It is the first dry hockey pitch in Spain and has recently been certified by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
