Sapca Code of Practice for construction Padel Courts

The new SAPCA Code of Practice for the Construction of Padel Courts has been completed and is available to download from the SAPCA website.

The Code of Practice has been produced in consultation with the LTA and is recognised and supported by the LTA for the construction of padel courts in the UK.

The LTA has the ambition of having 100 courts in 3 years’ time. The new code will use the tennis code of practice as a reference. Padel can be played on both a hardcourt and a synthetic turf surface. In the case of the latter, it is preferably made of a short-pile monofilament yarn. The surface will be required to be tested upon completion of the works, and testing should cover, amongst others, the shock absorbency, rotational resistance, and ball rebounce. The required evenness and permeability will be similar to what is currently required for a synthetic turf tennis surface in the UK.
