The Polish National Institute of Public Health (NIH) has approved ProPlay shock pads for sale and use in Poland.
Polish law states that all products first have to be assessed for their impact on human health and the environment before they’ll be allowed for sale and use in Poland.
“The National Institute of Public Health only issues such a Hygienic Certificate once it has assessed and approved the chemical composition of a product,” Marc Ganzeboom of Schmitz Foam Products explains.
Schmitz Foam Products is the biggest producer of shock absorbing products for use in artificial turf sports and playground surfaces.
ProPlay shock pads are produced from residual foams from other industry sectors including the automotive and construction material sectors. Although Schmitz Foam Products has its own stringent quality control procedures to assess all raw materials delivered at its gate, the certificate reinforces the message that ProPlay products are safe for use.
As using these materials for the production of ProPlay shock pads prevents the foams from being incinerated, ProPlay products also have one of the smallest ecological footprints according to the new EU tool for assessing the environmental footprint of products, the PEFtool.
Growth market
Schmitz Foam Products has identified the Polish market as a growth market for the years to come. Their application for the certificate shows their commitment to the market.
“Recognising the potential of the synthetic turf market in Poland, we are eager to also intensify our presence this country,” Ganzeboom continues. “By offering a comprehensive range of shock pads, including our well-established recycled foam shock pads and our latest innovation, we are excited to bring substantial added value to the market.”
The latest innovation, ProField, is currently being assessed by the Institute of Public Health.
“Reintroducing our trusted ProPlay shock pads, together with our brand new ProField shock pads into the Polish market, we are excited to offer a complete range of high-quality shock pads, backed by the renewed PZH certification. With a proven track record of success in Poland, we are committed to supporting synthetic turf projects and reaffirming our role as a reliable partner.”
