Time-to-market RoviMo reduced by six months

Swiss startup Ronovatec AG has developed the world’s first fully automated service robot that can mow samples into lawns according to UEFA and FIFA specifications. Through the cooperation with Lynus AG, the company was able to implement the prototype within two months and reduce the time-to-market by six months.

The roviMo autonomous lawnmower is particularly suitable for sports fields, parks and golf courses as well as company premises and can automatically mow lawns of up to 20,000 square metres in one day. The system will be sold from 2021.

The IT experts of Lynus AG from Tuggen near Zurich have customized their multi-tenant platform for RoviMo.

The data of all robots are clearly displayed in a customer portal. Greenkeepers can configure, control and remotely operate and monitor each robot from the dashboard around the clock thanks to cloud connectivity. The standard patterns available free of charge on the app can be customized. Each greenkeeper can choose the web width to be mowed. The robot then cuts off the grass in a process in the desired lawn pattern.

football turf FIFA-compliant “RoviMo is the world’s first robotic vehicle that can mow patterns autonomously, precisely and in the shortest possible way on the pitches as well as in stadiums according to the guidelines of the football associations UEFA and FIFA,” says Michael Rohner, project manager at Ronovatec AG.

Because the app detects faults and informs about necessary maintenance, productivity can be increased and service life increased. Because it runs on the cloud of the Swiss digitization expert Ventus Cloud, data backup on European servers is guaranteed.
