Foam coat that unites tuftlock and shockpad capabilities

Coating producer EOC has developed a coating that, in addition to the tuft lock, will also give the entire synthetic turf carpet more body and will contribute to the comfort of the field.

The PU foam coat is applied directly to the carpet and its thickness can be adjusted to customer specifications. While the coating is supposed to be a lower energy and no water consuming alternative to the latex coating commonly used in Europe, the foam coat also contributes to the shock absorption characteristics of the field.

“Although the foam is certainly not intended as an alternative to a shockpad, it does have some properties that can support the shockpad,” says Piet Tytgat of EOC.

EOC is currently awaiting an opportunity to test the foam in a live situation. “Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we haven’t had the opportunity yet to complete our field tests. These tests commence as soon as the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.” Tytgat is positive that EOC can launch the product at the FSB show in Cologne on 26 to 29 October.
