ByGuy Oldenkotte

Sep 8, 2021 ,

Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden are requesting interested parties to submit any information they have related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). These chemicals are better known as ‘ever-lasting chemicals’.

PFAS is a collective name and stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. This group of chemical substances is man-made and does not occur naturally in the environment. Treating products with PFAS makes the item water- or dirt repellent.

PFAS are also used by some of the synthetic turf yarn manufacturers hence Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden  now requesting interested parties to submit any information to help with the preparation of the restriction proposal.

This call for evidence has been extended and is open until 17 October 2021.
