Introduction

Have you just finished primary school and are looking for a cool education where you can spend a lot of time outdoors? Do you love to work both technically and creatively? Then the trainee training as a groundsman might be something for you!

Do you also love football and know how important a well-kept pitch is? Then you now have the chance to become a groundsman trainee at the federation in cooperation with this municipality.

What will I learn?

As a groundman student, you will learn how to build, care for and maintain football pitches and grasslands. You will learn about weeds, growing conditions, pest control, the environment, irrigation methods and maintenance of artificial grass and hybrid grass. You will help ensure that the municipality’s football pitches are always in top shape – from small grassy areas to the modern hybrid pitch where the team trains.

Job description

Your primary workplace will be in the municipality, where you will be part of the construction team and learn from their grass specialists. At times, you will also follow the federations grass and pitch manager, who will be your internship supervisor. Here you will have the opportunity to work close to the pitches that the national teams train and play on.

Requirements

To become a groundsman trainee, you must want to be enrolled in our basic course “agriculture, animals, plants and nature” and then the greenkeeper & groundsman education. The education alternates between school and training and takes up to 3 and 1/2 years.
