Sports fields maintenance equipment manufacturers GKB Machines and SMG have announced a strategic partnership to expand their product portfolios.
The partnership is aimed at further building up a joint dealer network. According to a statement released, the partnership will allow “customers worldwide to benefit from an even wider range of innovative and sustainable solutions for the construction and maintenance of sports pitches.”
As part of this partnership, GKB Machines will manufacture three key products for SMG:
- FillMatic FM1500 (GKB Infiller 150) – A self-propelled machine for the efficient and evenly infilling synthetic turf pitches.
- Streuer SP1400 / Spreader SP1400 ( GKB Topdrop TD114) – A hydraulically driven brush spreader, suitable for all types of infill materials for synthetic grass.
- Dekompactor DC1500 (GKB Aerator AR150) – An attachment machine for decompacting compacted synthetic grass pitches.
In time, GBK Machines will also be looking at which machines from the SMG product range they can add to their product portfolio.
Shared values as a basis for cooperation
Jan-Willem Kraaijeveld, the Managing Director of GBK Machines, points out that an important starting point for this collaboration is the shared vision of both companies. “A strong focus on top quality, continuous product availability and an international network. In addition, the business structures of GKB and SMG have many similarities, which makes the cooperation smooth and efficient,” he said.
“The common goal is to be stronger through synergies than individually. By pooling of expertise and resources, both companies can offer innovative, powerful and hands-on solutions to their clients.”
