Husqvarna and the Swedish Football Association, SvFF, are joining forces to help grassroots clubs operate in a smarter and more sustainable way. The two organisations have agreed to make financial support available to assist clubs in automating their pitch management.
The agreement should help clubs to reduce the workload of keeping playing surfaces in top condition.
Sweden has over 5,000 football pitches that are maintained by clubs. Many operate under financial pressure and depend heavily on passionate volunteers who dedicate their time to keeping football alive in their communities.
Maintaining a football pitch requires significant time, money and manpower, while pitch maintenance also contributes to a substantial share of a club’s emissions. As a result, more clubs are turning to robotic technology to make grounds management more efficient.
Grant to clubs
The Sustainability Plan provides grants to clubs that invest in eligible Husqvarna robotic mowers. Clubs purchasing a Husqvarna robotic mower can apply for financial support from the Swedish Football Association.
Available grants:
- Up to SEK 25,000 for a Husqvarna CEORA
- Up to SEK 7,000 for a Husqvarna Automower 560 EPOS
- Up to SEK 7,000 for a Husqvarna Automower 580 EPOS
You can also read:
To be granted the grant for the “Sustainability Plan”, the association must own or have an operational responsibility for the football field. Operational responsibility means that the association itself, or together with other SvFF-affiliated associations, shall have financial responsibility for the operation of the facility. If the club does not own the football field, they must have a right of use agreement and the financial responsibility for the operation of the field for at least ten years from the time of application.
The criterion for receiving the grant is that you buy one of Husqvarna’s robotic lawn mowers mentioned above. Then the association must also have its own sustainability plan. Of course, the association must also be affiliated with the SvFF.
Application
The application must be accompanied by:
- Description of the association and its activities.
- Information about the football field will be used for both women/girls and men/boys.
- A justification for why the association wants to invest in a robotic lawn mower.
- A presentation of the association’s sustainability plan.
- A cost estimate and a proposal for financing.
- A title deed or a right of use agreement stating that the association is responsible for the facility.
- Contact information for the association and its contact person.
SvFF’s facilities group and Husqvarna’s marketing manager PRO will be the preparation body for applications for the grant. Decisions on grants are made on an ongoing basis.
The application must be addressed to:
