The site that was used to host the hockey tournament during the recent Summer Olympics in Paris has been rehabilitated. The three hockey surfaces have been lifted and will be reinstalled elsewhere in France.
The Stade Yves-du-Manoir (officially Stade olympique Yves-du-Manoir, also known as Stade olympique de Colombes, or simply Colombes to the locals) has historically been a rugby, track, and association football stadium.
For the 2024 Summer Olympics, the entire site was converted to a hockey venue, where the preferred turf supplier of the FIH, Polytan, installed three Paris GT zero synthetic turf surfaces.
The product is Polytan’s answer to the FIH desire for a dry turf product: synthetic turf hockey surfaces that don’t have to be watered to produce a hockey surface suitable for elite hockey games.
Local clubs
As Stade Yves-du-Manoir had to be returned to the community of Colombes, Polytan has lifted the three surfaces. These will now be shipped to hockey clubs in Serge en Anjou, Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, and Lyon.
Two of the fields will be installed this year, while the third will be installed during the summer of 2025.
