Sports pitch contractor Finovi has partnered with synthetic turf manufacturer Edel Grass, Oostendorp flood lighting solutions and ACE Global. Christianne van der Zouw of Finovi cites synergy as the driving force behind this consortium. “The parties are truly complementary in terms of expertise and share a common vision on sustainability. We are convinced that we truly strengthen one another and can thus realise the sports pitch of the future.”
The consortium is focusing on actively managed and ‘smart’ synthetic turf pitches. “Pitches that anticipate developments in terms of temperature, precipitation, but also the energy requirements of the surrounding area.” However, Van de Zouw emphasises that the consortium also places great importance on circularity and ‘clean working’ (whereby the chosen working method also aims for the smallest possible footprint). “What also really appeals to me about the Scale Up is that it aims for the parties involved to collaborate not only within their own consortium, but also with parties from other consortia.” This could involve sharing equipment or materials rather than each contractor bringing their own resources to their own site. “That’s quite new in our sector, but I think this philosophy will benefit all players greatly. Why would another contractor bring in a machine from outside the municipality when yours, just a few kilometres away, is about to shipped off because it finished the task on your project?”
