Deputy grounds manager

Warwick Independent School Foundation is seeking to appoint a Deputy Grounds Manager to assist with the leading of our Grounds Department within our large, friendly team of Estates & Operations professionals.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in all areas of sports turf and grounds maintenance and development within a large estate, with previous supervisory experience and a desire to progress into management. They will enjoy being part of a busy, hard-working team which makes a significant contribution to the life of the Schools.

They will assist with the delivery of a high level of quality and workmanship with improvements continually shown to the grounds and estate. They will have the ability to communicate clearly, making decisions, delegating and ensuring all grounds works and projects are delivered on time and within budget from the direction of the Grounds Manager.

They will have a strong desire to promote the use of new technologies and have a keen awareness of industry trends and implementation strategies. They will ensure that from the direction of the Grounds Manager all daily/weekly/monthly/seasonal checks are undertaken for all ground’s equipment and preventative measurements.

The role will assist the Grounds Manager with Grounds Health & Safety and be driver of training and personal development within the team.

The successful applicant will have the ability to be flexible and discreet; someone who is organised, works well under pressure, has high attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.

The role is all-year round (40 hours per week), on a 5/7 shift rota.  The salary will be between £31,960 – £34,865 per annum dependent upon experience.
