Cradle to cradle certification for Shaw Sports Turf

Cradle to cradle synthetic turf

Three of Shaw Sports Turf most popular product lines have been issued with Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze under the Version 3.1 standard of the US Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program Standard.

“Shaw has been committed to Cradle to Cradle design for more than 20 years, keeping us keenly focused on designing products that support the health & wellbeing of the planet and its people,” said Shaw Industries Vice President of Global Sustainability and Innovation Kellie Ballew. The addition of three more certificates sees the company topping the list for companies with number of cradle to cradle certified products. “We have more certifications than any manufacturer in the world, and the addition of Shaw Sports Turf reiterates our unwavering focus on putting people at the center of all we do – what we refer to as sustain[HUMAN]ability.”

Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program is a globally recognized framework for designing and manufacturing safe, circular, and responsibly made products. Products that achieve Cradle to Cradle certification have been evaluated according to science-based measures for material health, product circularity, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship, and social fairness.

Combined with other products

According to Shaw Sports Turf, any one of the turf products can be paired with Geofill infill, a 100% natural infill that consists of coconut fiber and cork, and NXTPlay, a shock pad made of recycled turf.

“With a commitment to continued innovation, we aim to bring new solutions to the market that meet performance requirements of our customers, while also supporting the planet and people,” notes Chuck McClurg, vice president of the turf division at Shaw. “Our Cradle to Cradle Certified field systems combine high-level playability with impressive sustainability attributes.”

This Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze product line is just another example of how Shaw Sports Turf continues to lead the synthetic turf industry in research and development. The company remains committed to bringing new innovations and solutions to the market while providing the next level in performance to customers.
