Condor Grass announces the introduction of a synthetic turf hockey surface that performs in both dry and wet conditions. The Condor Grass DW complies with criteria for Dry Turf as well as watered surfaces.
According to Condor Grass, the DW Hockey System is ideal for scenarios where water-based fields are preferred, such as competition preparation, while maintaining excellent playability even during rainy periods. The dual-purpose functionality anticipates potential regulatory decisions by the Royal Dutch Hockey Federation (KNHB) and the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
The elimination of the need for irrigation delivers the DW Hockey System several advantages, including significant water conservation and the associated financial savings for users and field managers.
“With this development, we believe we have created a system that meets the future needs of users and administrators in the most efficient way possible,” said Joop van Krimpen, Commercial Manager of Condor Grass. “The DW Hockey System underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability.”
First field already in action
The DW system has already been implemented in the Netherlands, with a Hockey 5s field featuring the Hockey Ultra DW system now in use at “HC Voordaan” in Groenekan. This milestone installation reflects Condor Grass’s dedication to providing high-performance, future-proof solutions for the global hockey community.
