The Cheshire FA and maintenance company Technical Surfaces have agreed to deliver regional training seminars annually, tailored to the specifics of 3G pitch maintenance to provide guidance to grounds teams across Cheshire.

Furthermore, the team at Technical Surfaces will be on hand to provide ongoing technical support to all FA-led 3G pitches in the Cheshire area.

Business Development Manager, Greg McLean, spoke of the partnership, explaining “The decision to formalise our partnership with Simon and the team at Technical Surfaces was an easy one to make.

“Having discussed the potential benefits to our clubs, and in particular, grounds teams in Cheshire, we felt it was without doubt the right step to take and we look forward to developing this relationship in the months and years to come alongside our Facilities & Investment Team of Vesta Pear & Jake Walker. We believe that by partnering with Technical Surfaces, there will be a great benefit to the grounds teams across Cheshire in sharing knowledge, guidance and expertise of the team who have a wealth of experience from their years in the industry.

Mathew Griffiths, Facility Manager at Cheshire FA, outlined why from his perspective, the partnership is a great sign of progress for the County: “Having worked with Simon and the team for a number of years now supporting the maintenance of our own 3G pitch, I have personally seen the benefit in tapping into the knowledge of the team at Technical Surfaces to ensure our brilliant facilities remain in a top condition for longer. Maintenance is vital, and I have no doubt that colleagues around the County FA will benefit from our new partnership and the chance to upskill.”

Simon Lemanski, of Technical Surfaces, added: “I am delighted that our long-term partnership with Cheshire FA to deliver quality maintenance to 3G pitches across the region has been extended to 2024. From recreational football to competitive matches, we understand how important it is for players to have confidence in their 3G pitch, both as a quality playing surface and in terms of health & safety. We are therefore particularly excited to further develop our working relationship with Greg, Mathew and the whole team at Cheshire FA, providing practical advice and technical support to grounds teams across Cheshire.”
